I just got my tattoo today! I’m so excited about the way it came out.
Palm trees to represent my Miami roots, four of them for each member of my family. I also decided to put it on my upper thigh because that’s the part of the body that becomes exposed during bikini season.
Overall, it’s short, sweet, and sentimental: perfect characteristics for my first tattoo.I was originally going to have silhouetted trees in a blue box (because Miami has such beautiful blue skies), but that would have been expensive and painful. Oh well. I’m still super happy with this design!
My seven-pointed star represents my luck I have had in my life (seven being my lucky number) and also represents my love of stars. The lines in the design of the star represent how we are all connected.
“Everything happens for a reason” is my life motto. My sister was born with special needs and I had this imprinted on my back for her.
I got this tattoo on my left upper thigh a week ago from yesterday (i got it 4/16/11) at diablo rojo in austin, tx. I’ve always been intrigued by optical illusions and geometry and have recently been wanting to incorporate the two ideas into one simple tattoo that would mean so much to me. it was when i was a freshman in high school when i took geometry for the first time that i fell in love with the concepts of angles, shapes, prisms, etc. i used to always draw cubes and prisms everywhere and even create my own “mind fucks” and found it so incredibly interesting what the beauty and art of math was capable of. I currently study math at UT austin and aspire to be a math teacher for high school one day. I absolutely love my tattoo.
